Keep bleeding Keep, keep bleeding love I keep bleeding I keep, keep bleeding love Keep bleeding Keep, keep bleeding love You cut me open -Leona Louis ;Bleeding Love; After arriving to Horsefeathers Academy only a few days ago, Kodak Stark walked into the Student Lounge. Even though it was not even the beginning of the school year and yet there was still a lot of homework to be done. Well, not homework for class, more for which new saddle should she buy or perhaps the best color for her new saddle pad. It was always the worst part for showing, the replacing of old tack that had been worn to the end of time. Flipping through the Dover Saddlery catalog, Kodak sighed, it was going to be a long day.
Taking out her teal colored Ipod Nano, Kodak started to listen to the song 'Lost' by Michael Buble. It was her favorite song, it helped calm her down. Most of all, it help with her emotions, she was a little homesick as she had just come here for the first year at the Academy.

Maggie walked into the student lounge, carrying a bag that was overflowing with books and her laptop. Horse books that is. Maggie wanted to catch up on her reading- so between Dark Horse by Chris Irwin and the wide variety of tack catalogues she figured she would. She’d also grabbed a couple training DVD’s from her room- but seeing another much younger girl in the lounge decided against it. Maggie sat down at the large table across from the girl- who she figured was in grade eight. Maggie wondered if the girl was nervous- she knew she’d been when she was in grade eight. Now she was in grade twelve- and all she really cared about was riding her horse and hopefully making friends. They were no longer a necessity. Yes you could call her a loner- but she just couldn’t stand the whole he said she said. It drove her brain crazy.
“Hey” said Maggie simply, completely relaxed. She liked younger kids- she’d always been good with them. Which was one of the reasons she was taking a career in public school teaching. She grabbed her laptop and pulled up Symphony Saddle And Tack. It was a smaller tack store- but she found it had the best prices. She scrolled to the saddle pad section and with a glance noticed the other girl was searching catalogues to. New school, meant new equestrian team season., Which meant an excuse to get more tack. That and Maggie needed more tack. [/blockquote]

Immensely in deeply in her magazine to get her tack, that she did not notice the senior that sat in front of her. That is until she said 'hi'. As she looked up, she smiled and paused her iPod. Which was now on the song "Always Be My Baby" David Cook version. Fixing her black hat on her head, Kodak said, "Hello," she did not really know what to say. Not a lot of seniors really talked to her, because she was only in a younger grade. Looking down only to write down a number and price of a nice looking Western saddle for Slide. It was a Western Pleasure saddle of course. She knew that looking good and doing well was deeply important.
Surprisingly a lot of people had been getting new tack. Of course the Equestrian team was going to have try out soon for the new students. She was nervous for she was good at Western and English and Austrian. Only they didn't have an Austrian riding team. Which was sad. Kodak first learned Western and Austrian way before she learned English.

Maggie smiled and said “Looking for new tack too?”. Maggie continued browsing, looking deeply at the computer screen as she pulled up a page that had a selection of riding boots. Her show ones we’re still in good condition- but her everyday ones were toast. So she was retiring her tall black ariats to her barn boots- and looking for a good but not overly expensive pair. The school was paying for her horse to stay and live at Ha- but they weren’t paying for her new wardrobe. Luckily she had rich relatives who’d since she’d been granted a scholarship- which to them meant she was actually going somewhere in this so called horse world- we’re offering to pay for all her new school clothes. And they didn’t think Wal-Mart was for anything but well-nothing. Maggie didn’t dig Wal-Mart’s clothes but their school supplies were always good- but her relatives insisted she have the best. Too bad they hadn’t decided to step up when her father was struggling after the divorce. But he was on his feet now- and made a fair bit of money.
Maggie wondered how much he’d send her for new riding supplies- she knew he’d send her more then enough for the low line stuff- but he wouldn’t send her enough for top of the line riding apparel. Therefore she was thankful she’d worked practically endlessly all summer- it meant she had some extra cash. She’d also made some rope reins and halters on the side and made some extra money- she figured if she budgeted everything right she’d be able to pay for everything she wanted with her own money- and keep her fathers for things that she’d need later on. But sadly one object stood in her way- she needed a new saddle. Hers was awesome- but she needed a new all purpose one. She’d gotten her dressage saddle last Christmas- so it was fine. But her all purpose was getting old- too old. Maggie pulled up her email account- time to write a nice letter to her rich aunt. She hated asking for anything- especially after the clothes thing- but it was needed and she wouldn’t dare ask her dad. That just wouldn’t be fair- especially after basically refusing to live with him. AT least she knew her aunt wouldn’t be suffering by handing over a few thousand. Hell even a hundred would be a great start. Hopefully Maggie’s persuasive English marks were real- and she really could convince anybody of anything. [/blockquote]

Of course, scanning threw the catalog, Kodak knew that many things where going to be hard to get. Like her horse a new halter engraved for showmanship. Which more or less was going to be harder for her because her father had told her that she needed to learn to budget her savings. Of course, Kodak was not really good at that, but knew that if she did not learn now, she would have a major problem. "Yes, I am. For showing and stuff, yourself?" Kodak asked as she wrote down another number. So far she had a new Western pleasure saddle, a close contact saddle, polo wraps, and a new bridle. She was already over two hundred dollars.
As she skimmed threw she found a few other things. "Are you on the Equestrian team?" Kodak asked as she switched to Wild Horsefeathers catalog. It was one of her favorites. She was always buying things from the place even when she did not need it. It was a habit, but she did need new breeches and chaps....Now that her father was on his way to inventing more military missiles, to keep himself busy anyway, she was sent here for safety away from her Malibu home.

“yeah- I’m co-captain of the eventing team“. said Maggie grabbing a tack catalogue from her bag and flipping through- She really needed a nicely fitted protection vest. She had one from the school- since she needed it to show cross country. But she needed one for when she was practicing. She needed a schooling helmet to- man she needed so much stuff. But her show helmet was still in great shape- but it had only been through one show season.
“What sports do you play?” asked Maggie, as she used a pen to scribble down the information for a Tipperary helmet and vest. Maggie suddenly remembered she’d been asked a question and said “Yeah- I need a lot of show gear and some schooling stuff too”. Maggie started typing the email she was dreading sending- and she was thankful she was a fast typer. Her fingers flew over the keys easily, making it obvious she’d had to type a lot of reports and write ups for things. And she’d always had to send plenty of letters to her father- which he always corrected her grammar in. So she had fairly flawless spelling and grammar- then again who wouldn’t? Maggie ended with ‘your niece, M. Carmichael’. Weird yes, but her aunt was a very professional person, and saying your niece was pushing it. She liked Sincerely much better. But that was too uptight for Maggie. Hell she just put I love you or xoxo for most of her email endings. Maggie brought her focus back to the catalogue and noticing the girl had a wild horse feathers one pulled hers out-figuring it’d probably have some good stuff she needed- and stuff she didn’t. Kodak continued looking, she found a pair of jods that she absolutely needed for Hunter classes. It was a must, she pulled a tan color which was what she really needed. She looked up when she heard that she was the co-captain for the riding team. "I'm in Show Jumping for the Equestrian team, although, I might ask to be in Western Pleasure, but I will have to see how Slide holds up with Show Jumping first. Also in Gymnastics, and I'm Captain of the Cross Country Running. I'm also in Track." Kodak said as she scribbled down another item, mainly grooming supplies for the showing season. As she added up the total she sighed, sure she had the money, but her parents would not be too happy. They kept an account for her riding supplies, one for her horse, and one for collage.
Kodak took another catalog out, it was one for monogrammed saddle pads and halters. Also for blankets and polo wraps. She looked at them, she could not wait. "So, do you know when practice for the Equestrian team starts?" Kodak wanted to make sure it had not already started...

“No-I’m not a hundred percent sure when it’s going to be. I know they are waiting till a few weeks after school starts. I heard that they want to make sure everybody is showing up to classes and behaving before they award them their official spots on the equestrian teams.” said Maggie. She wasn’t really a hundred percent sure when they start- but she had seen the lists and new a few of the people had been goofing off and not showing up to do their barn chores and stuff like that. Maggie wished everybody would just behave so they could start- she heard rumors that they might be making some different teams and having them compete in all theses challenges. But she didn’t want to get her hopes up- for it was still just a rumor.
